Branding

Even today a rancher will place a brand upon his catle so they can be so identified as his. If they wander into another's acreage they will be returned. If a different brand is seen within his acreage he will return it to its owner. So, I thought to myself, how many "cattle" have we similarly branded and claimed as our very own? Ever said something like my cold; my forgetfulness; my rheumatism; or my anything you really do not want to claim as unquestionably yours? Or, but using different terminologies, have you ever uttered the phrase dahh for something you did that wasn't as intelligent as you might have wanted it to be? Isn't that but another way of saying my stupidity? There is a Unity hymn that so very accurately speaks to this, "Words and thoughts have molding power, so let us careful be, knowing we are building our eternity." Said another way, "Junk in, junk out."

Watch what you claim for yourself. Even in the midst of somethingchallenging, aren't we pointing the compass of consciousness toward what we really want when we yet claim my abundance; my health; my perfect peace? It is very much like making the choice to not claim the very blanket statement, "I can't afford," when the phrase "I choose not to spend my money in this direction," keeps you in the driver's seat.
