War and Peace...helping God out

"It's interesting that the path to peace often is war. We, like you, don't agree that it's making things better, but we don't think they're wrong; and we understand the thinking behind it. And if you get involved in every disagreement of every point of Consciousness, your life's just going to be in a scramble. Finally you have to say,"This isn't about me. I didn't wage this war. I didn't pick this war. I don't understand this war. I'm not going to think about this war, and I'm not going to use it as my excuse to not feel good any more." Abraham

So, as with all things, be it war or rumors of war, be it political genres, be it anything that has the power to register within us as something unwanted, the key to our living a life of peace and joy is to simply not focus upon it. Granted, this might be unavoidable for some within our society as circumstances might seem to bring something that engenders fear or distain into our laps, but probably for the majority of us we have to almost go out of our way to find a something that as we focus upon it, engenders an emotional response that doesn't feel good. Are we here upon the screen of life to feel bad or good? If good and joy-filled, then can't we help this process along a bit?

A preacher was visiting a family for Sunday chicken dinner and he had a very large and obvious boil on the front of his neck. A child finally asked him about it and was told that God send it to him so that he might suffer. The child thoughtfully said, "Then, why don't you button the collar button and help God out?" Are we here upon the screen of life to feel bad or good? If good and joy-filled, then what can we focus upon that "help God out?"
