How It Works...so to speak
"Every time you say, "I appreciate that. I really like that. I applaud that. I acknowledge the value in that." Every time you do that, you spend some of your Energy, and it is the spending of the Energy that creates a vacuum, so to speak, or an attraction, so to speak, that draws more and more and more and more." Abraham
So, how do we"spending" our energy? Sometimes it might be in ways that "purchase" experiences we really don't want to proliferate in our lives. Appreciation "spends" energy as does disapproval. Of course, disapproval seldom leaves a happy trail in our emotions and this should be the give away that we don't want to continue. The more we spend on the happy side of life the more we are drawing its happy ilk toward us. Our mothers were right...if we can't say anything good about...well, you know the rest.

unity is blessing me so much. i am learning to spend my energy right. sometimes when i hear something less then uplifting i find myself wanting to comment on it in a negative way. now i realize it's better to say nothing otherwise i just attract more of the same to me. i listened to mary ellen talk about prayer and realize my whole concept of prayer was way off. beseeching begging pleading just does not make sense anymore. to affirm the good, to treat myself, does more good then any kind of outward pleading. the kingdom of god is within. that is where i must concentrate my efforts. i picked up May Rowlands' book "dare to believe". in the chapter titled " on wings of prayer " May writes, " the idea of trying to change other people without changing ourselves is like a story about a man who visited the Ozarks and asked anative for directions. He asked " is this the road back to Kansas City?". not exactly the native answered, the road moseys along for a ways, then turns into a hog trail, then it turns into a squirrel track, and finally into a scrub pine, and ends in a knothole." and so it is with any prayer that does not deal with changing ourselves for the better. it gets us nowhere. i feel like affirmation is getting me somewhere. it works. also silence, quietness in meditation helps so much. to go to that deeper level of conciousness and really experience transformation. it's all so good. thank you Larry and Mary Ellen. god bless, jay.
