Da Vinci Code

I have waited until this moment to comment on the book as well as the movie. If I ever had an opportunity to hire the Roman Catholic Church for my publicity agent, I would most certainly do so. They don't realize that anything they protest takes that energy and becomes stronger...you go boy! Is it a story? Certainly. If there is even a smattering of Truth in it, do you think "the church" has a vested interest in damning it and branding it with scarlet...almost threatening any "good" Catholic with excommunication for seeing it? You betchum. What do I think? Read the miracle of the water being changed into wine again (John 2: 1-11) and see if there is even the most remote possibility that this was the wedding of Jesus and that He was the groom. Would it disturb me if Jesus was married with children and that possibly Mary Magdalene was His wife, even possibly the one who He saved from stoning? Not at all. I need not these things to be true, but if they were/are, wouldn't it make His presence as example and not exception stronger? See the movie, enjoy the entertainment and ask yourself the question "what are they afraid of."

Ahhh yes the hot topic of the summer. I have yet to see the movie but I did read the book, loved it. I knew alot of the aspect of church history before reading it with reguards to the council of Nicea and Constintine but I did not know about the idea's of the Grail. Of course both the catholic and the protestant churches are going to play this off as if it is a huge blasphemy because of their vested intrest in keeping the cannon of scripture in tact. Whether or not the idea's presented in the book are fact or fiction is nomatter to me I enjoy a good story and the book provided that for sure

As an aside note Larry I enjoyed your church yesterday and enjoyed meeting you for a brief moment as well. I will be back often :)
